Peru "on road to first world" - finance minister

LIMA, April 2 (Reuters) - Peru's Finance Minister Luis Carranza said on Wednesday that Fitch's upgrade to investment grade puts the Andean country "on the road to first world" status.

On Wednesday, Fitch Rating raised Peru's foreign currency sovereign credit rating to investment grade, bumping it to "BBB-" from "BB+" with a stable outlook. (Reporting by Jean Luis Arce; Writing by Dana Ford; Editing by Diane Craft)
