Barclays Creates New Customer Care Center in Wilton, Maine

New Facility Expands Credit Card Service Capabilities, Leverages Established
Base of Skilled Employees

WILTON, Maine, April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Barclays will open a new
customer care facility in Wilton, Maine to support its growing credit card
operations. The opening of the new facility, which will be fully operational
June 15, 2008, will initially create 50 full-time jobs with projected
employment of 200 people in Maine over a ten year period.
Employees of the state-of-the-art customer care center, located at
128 Weld Road, will provide customer support for cardmembers who participate
in the 60 co-branded credit card partnership programs offered by Barclays in
the U.S. Barclays also operates a customer care center in Wilmington, Del.
Jen McEntee, who has 15 years of customer care experience, has been named
Director, Wilton Care Center.
