ALMATY, April 4 (Reuters) - Kazakh metals major ENRC (ENRC.L) said on Friday it had completed a purchase of a controlling stake in Russian ferrochrome producer Serov for $210 million, its first acquisition as a public company.

Serov, based in eastern Russia, owns a chrome ore mining facility and a ferrochrome smelter with annual sales of 200,000 tonnes of various ferroalloys.

"The total cash consideration for the acquisition is $210 million, including an initial $100 million pre-payment made in July 2007," said ENRC, the world's biggest producer of ferrochrome and the sixth-largest iron ore exporter by volume. (Writing by Maria Golovnina; Editing by David Holmes)
