HOUSTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp's (XOM.N) 150,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in Torrance, California, restarted on Saturday, one day after a fire, and was operating normally on Monday, a company spokeswoman said.

Some repairs were being done on the unit while it continues to operate, said Exxon's Barbara Burgett.

A brief early Friday morning fire on the hydrotreater triggered the use of the plant's safety flare and helped send wholesale West Coast gasoline prices up 6 cents.

The fire was on a fractionation tower on the unit, Burgett said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Gary Hill)
