The British Land Company PLC announces that on 10 April 2008, in London, Sir
David Michels, Lord Turnbull, Clive Cowdery and Robert Swannell, Directors of
the Company, were allotted the following number of shares of 25p each in the
Company, at a price of 894 pence per share;



          Sir David Michels                        912

          Lord Turnbull                            280

          Clive Cowdery                            929

          Robert Swannell                          456



The shares allotted to Lord Turnbull and Robert Swannell were pursuant to their
standing instructions to receive shares as part satisfaction of their annual
directors' fees. The shares allotted to Clive Cowdery and Sir David Michels were
pursuant to their standing instructions to receive shares as total satisfaction
of their annual directors' fees.
