Company to Support the Joint Electronic Fuels Management Project

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Science
Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been
awarded two contracts by the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) to
support the Joint Electronic Fuels Management (JEFM) Project. These
single-award, prime contracts have a total contract value of AU $13.5 million
(approximately US $12.5 million) over 49-months if all options are exercised.
Varec Inc., an SAIC company, will perform work on the contracts at locations
throughout Australia.
    SAIC will provide project management, logistics and systems engineering
services to help the DMO design, test and integrate a Joint Fuels Information
Management System (JFIMS) based upon Varec's FuelsManager(R) Defence software.
Upon operational acceptance of the acquisition system, SAIC will establish a
JFIMS Support Centre (JSC) in Melbourne, staffed to provide technical support
and configuration management services for the new system throughout the
contract.
