MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota will update its home base
this season at the Memphis Redbirds' AutoZone Park: a redesigned three-car
showroom packed with interactivity for the 2008 baseball season. The showroom
in the Toyota Center will offer fans the bonus of seeing the automakers'
all-new products and advanced automotive technology up close before, during,
and after games. Different cars, trucks or SUVs are on display every month.
With vehicles like the 2008 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, the Toyota
Tundra and all-new 2008 Highlander being showcased, it won't just be Redbird
hitters displaying their raw power on game day. Visitors will see a montage
of product videos and can use an interactive kiosk to go directly on-line to
www.toyota.com and www.buyatoyota.com to learn more.
Toyota and its dealers have sponsored of the Redbirds Triple-A ball club,
an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals since 2000. The Toyota Center is an
integral part of AutoZone Park, which was honored as the 2000 Minor League
Ballpark of the Year and houses the BackStop Baseball Emporium. It is the
fans' headquarters for Redbirds gear and the largest retail store in minor
league sports.
The Toyota Center also houses the Redbirds team offices, the ballpark's
catering kitchen, connections to the AutoZone Park concourse during games, and
a bridge to the ballpark's club level. The building originally was the
historic Wm. R. Moore Dry Goods Building, a Memphis landmark that was
rehabilitated during the 1990s. It stands on Toyota Drive near AutoZone Park's
entry plaza. Over the season, the showroom will be the scene of numerous
special events and will feature activities for children as their parents shop.
The Redbirds play their home season opener against the Omaha Royals on
April 11.
