L-1 Identity Solutions Unveils TouchPrint(TM) Enhanced Definition 4800 Live Scan - an Innovative New Device Capable of Capturing Forensic-Quality TenPrint and Palm Images on a Single Platen

Helps Law Enforcement Comply with Legislation Mandating Biometric
Enrollment of Criminals with the Smallest, Lightweight and Complete
                           Device Available
STAMFORD, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:ID) a leading provider of
identity solutions and services, today announced availability of the
TouchPrint(TM) Enhanced Definition 4800 Live Scan product. The FBI
Appendix F certified live scan is the smallest, lightweight device for
capturing complete ten print and palm images including fingerprint
rolls, slaps, thumbs, palms and writers' edges.

Expert forensic examiners estimate that nearly one third of all
latent prints obtained from actual crime scenes come from parts of the
hand other than the fingertips. A recent push for sex offender
legislation, particularly within the United States, has mandated the
capture of offenders' hand or palm prints in addition to fingerprints
alone. For example, the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of
2006 requires that a set of fingerprints and palm prints of the sex
offender be taken as part of the registry requirements.

Developed specifically to address the need to capture tenprint and
palm images in a smaller, more mobile scanner, the TouchPrint ED 4800
is the only live scan capable of multi-capture on a patent-pending
single, field-replaceable platen. It has the smallest cubic footprint
and is the lightest weight palm scanner available today. The device
features advanced technologies such as L-1's proprietary Moisture
Discriminating Optics(TM) to ignore the effects of moisture blobs from
sweaty prints and deliver higher quality images. An IP65 ingress
protection rated enclosure prevents damage from dust, debris and
water, making it resilient to effects of harsh conditions. The
TouchPrint ED 4800 is flexible and can be used as a standalone unit,
or incorporated into cabinets, kiosks or booking stations.

"Law enforcement agencies across the country have been demanding a
live scan device that will help them fulfill requirements mandated by
new legislation to upgrade and include tenprint and palm images, while
also protecting their current technology investments," said Robert
LaPenta, Chairman, President and CEO of L-1 Identity Solutions. "Our
goal is to continue to develop innovative and cost effective solutions
that respond to evolving customer needs and objectives."
