SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
Untangle announced today the results of its Deep Throat Fight
Club, pitting web filtering products from Barracuda, Fortinet,
Sonicwall, Websense and WatchGuard in a battle to block 5,000
pornographic websites.

Untangle conducted the Deep Throat Fight Club after feedback from
companies and schools that web filtering solutions frequently missed
flagrant porn sites. The Deep Throat Fight Club was a live test held
during the RSA Conference in San Francisco to identify what solutions
worked best and how performance should be measured.

All of the solutions demonstrated similar blocking performance,
with efficacies ranging from 94%-98%. However, in Fight Club there
must be a winner - and Fortinet emerged as the champion with
approximately 98% of porn sites correctly blocked. Of course, this
also means that all solutions missed between 2% and 6% of pornographic
sites and included several false positives, which occurred when
non-pornographic sites were categorized incorrectly.

"Web filters are becoming absolutely crucial in today's IT
environment," said Dirk Morris, CTO and co-founder of Untangle, the
world's most popular open source network gateway solution. "Deep
Throat Fight Club has set a baseline for Web filter performance. Now
it's up to people to decide - are they good enough?"

For this test, Untangle utilized approximately 5,000 URLs found by
taking the first 100 Google results from 50 popular
pornography-related search terms. Each URL was categorized by an
editor as pornography, not pornography, and ambiguous, and only the
URLs categorized as pornographic or non-pornographic were included in
the test. Each product was graded based on the percentage of sites
correctly blocked or passed, the percentage of missed pornographic
sites, and the percentage of false positives.

All of the results, definitions, and testing methodologies can be
found at www.untangle.com/deepthroat.

Untangle's Deep Throat Fight Club comes on the heels of the
successful AV Fight Club in August 2007 which tested proprietary and
open source anti-virus solutions in an open format. For more
