TORONTO, ONTARIO, Apr 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
Latin American Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE: LAT) announces that
preliminary results of the first six holes completed at its Tendal
massive sulphide project can be expected by the third week of April.

Additionally, Quantec Geoscience Argentina S.A was contracted to complete
three reconnaissance gravity traverses over the Verdiona massive sulphide
zone exposed on surface using a La Coste-Romberg gravity meter G-470. A
strong residual gravity anomaly was discovered immediately west of the
Verdiona zone mineralization on LAT's mining concession. The core of the
anomaly is up to 100m wide and is open along strike to the north and
south. The size, shape and amplitude of the anomaly suggest a confined
deep rooted dense mass consistent with massive sulphides. LAT intends to
expand the gravity survey and initiate reconnaissance electromagnetic
(EM) and rock chip sampling in an area underlain by schist, which showing
signs of malachite leaching in breccias zones similar to that hosting the
Verdiona zone mineralization. Based on the work completed to-date a
series of block model diagrams have been manually generated to illustrate
the excellent exploration potential which exists down dip of the known
Verdiona massive sulphide occurrence. To view the block diagrams visit
www.latinamericanminerals.com.

Furthermore, the historic Verdiona mine has been refurbished to allow
safe access for geological mapping and sampling of the massive sulphides
exposed in the underground workings. Photographs of the massive sulphides
exposed underground can be seen at www.latinamericanminerals.com.

Mr. Wahl, President and CEO reports from the Property that "...despite
unseasonably heavy rainfall, which destroyed parts of not only LAT's
access road to the property but also many of the main Provincial highways
which has slowed the progress at the Tendal project. We are back on track
and is currently under the direct on site supervision of Dr. Waldo Perez,
Sr. VP Exploration..". The extent of the damage caused by the torrential
rains can be seen at www.latinamericanminerals.com.

"With the onset of winter we are pushing to complete the initial drill
program within the next 6 weeks before the weather becomes more
challenging" reports Dr. Perez.

requirements of National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible this press
release.
