JERUSALEM, Apr 10 (MARKET WIRE) --
IDenta Corp. (PINKSHEETS: IDTA) announced today that it expects to soon sign a
formal agreement with the French government to begin development of a totally
new
line of detection kits. The new products, as yet unnamed, will be used to
identify precursor chemicals that are used to manufacture numerous illicit
drugs such as methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroin and cocaine. The announcement
comes after
IDenta's recent trade mission to France where high level meetings were held with
a special French commission, made up of high ranking law enforcement officials,
investigating ways to curtail the production of illicit drugs by stopping the
illegal import and shipment of precursor chemicals.
"Governments must monitor chemical imports and interrupt the delivery of
these precursor ingredients before they are received by illegal drug
manufacturers and traffickers," explained IDTA CEO Yaacov Shoham. "We are
honored that the French have expressed their complete confidence in IDenta as
the only organization that is fully qualified to develop these new detectors
to their standards of accuracy and on-site reliability. I wish to thank
Ibtec and Mr. Laurent Elbaze, who represent our company's products in
France, for making this possible. We expect to announce a formal agreement in a
very short time, and expect that these products could soon generate new large
demands from countries around the world." (Not only from France)
Recently IDenta announced that the French government, through its
representatives Ibtec, had selected IDenta drug identification products
andthe explosive identifiers for use throughout all of the country's law
enforcement agencies. Orders for IDenta products in recent weeks have steadily
increased from law enforcement agencies throughout that country.
About Precursors
Law enforcement agencies world-wide are keenly aware that chemical control
is a
crucial element to controlling the manufacture and distribution of illegal
narcotics and synthetic substances. The International Office Of National
Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, and the U.S.
Department of State are working with the major pseudoephedrine and Ephedrine
producing/exporting countries of China, Germany, and India on a
multi-faceted approach to address the issue of precursor diversion. In
lateFebruary 2006, the DEA hosted a meeting in Hong Kong with Law Enforcement
Officials
from India, Germany, and several major pseudoephedrine and ephedrine
importing countries to discuss pseudoephedrine and ephedrine diversion control
issues. There was an overall agreement that more must be done
internationally to control diversion and it was a significant first step in the
process.
