Annual Award Will Recognize Volunteers Who Have Gone Above and
Beyond to Contribute to the Organization
SAN FRANCISCO--(Business Wire)--
(ISC)2(R) ("ISC-squared"), the non-profit global leader in
educating and certifying information security professionals throughout
their careers, has announced the creation of the James R. Wade (ISC)2
Service Award, which will recognize volunteers who have made a
sustained and valuable contribution to (ISC)2. The announcement was
made last night at the annual (ISC)2 member reception at RSA 2008 in
San Francisco, which drew more than 300 information security
professionals.

Any volunteer can be nominated for the award by an (ISC)2 member
or by the (ISC)2 Board of Directors' Awards Committee. (ISC)2
certification is not required to be eligible. The awards committee
will select finalists. The Board of Directors will then make the final
determination based on a majority vote. The location and exact date of
the annual presentation to the winning recipient is to be determined.

"In the formative years of our organization and the profession,
Jim's quiet leadership was instrumental in making (ISC)2 the premier
organization it is today," said Eddie Zeitler, CISSP, executive
director of (ISC)2. "He selflessly offered his time and expertise to
countless professional organizations, and we are very pleased to
introduce an award in his honor that recognizes individuals who have
gone above and beyond to further our mission."

A key proponent of the information security profession, Wade had
more than 25 years of experience in information security, including
several executive-level positions at high-profile organizations. He
was a longtime member of the (ISC)2 Board of Directors, including
serving as president from 2000-2003. Wade also freely donated his time
to numerous other organizations, including serving as president for
the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), chairman of the
computer security committee for the American Society for Industrial
Security (ASIS) International, and taking part in the curriculum
advisory committee for the College of Law Enforcement at Eastern
Kentucky University. He passed away Oct. 31, 2007.

"This award will be part of our global awards program, which
includes honors such as the Harold F. Tipton Award for lifetime
contribution to the information security profession, our Information
Security Leadership Awards, which recognize individuals who champion
workforce improvement, and the President's Award, which honors our
volunteers," added Zeitler.
