Opening Night of WORLDFEST Houston International Film Festival Showcases ''Before the Rains'' by Houstonian Ashok Rao and VIP Reception

What: Opening night celebration for WORLDFEST-HOUSTON on Friday,
April 11. WORLDFEST, the 41st Annual Houston International
Film Festival, will showcase 53 independent feature film and
75 short films, including 11 films by Houstonians and other
Texans. WORLDFEST also offers KidFest, films for younger
audiences, and many family-friendly documentaries each day.
WORLDFEST is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

WORLDFEST is hosting a VIP champagne reception on April 11
after the screening of the opening night film, "Before the
Rains." (See Opening Night Timeline below.) "Before the
Rains" is an epic drama set Kerala, India where the tea and
spice plantations are. This historic time during India's
growing unrest beneath British rule and Gandhi's rising
power constitutes the background during which the plantation
owner undertakes an immense and dangerous project of
building a road over the mountain to expand his plantation.
However, his infidelity with a local young wife married to
an abusive husband soon turns into a nightmare.

Houstonian Ashok Rao, Executive Producer of the film, and his
lovely wife Sheela will personally present the Houston
Premiere of "Before the Rains" and Ashok will conduct a
"Question and Answer" session directly after the screening.

Where: AMC 30 Theatres, 2949 Dunvale, Houston (between Westheimer
and Richmond west of the Houston Galleria) for screening and
opening night festivities
