French stocks - Factors to watch on April 10

PARIS, April 10 (Reuters) - Below are leading stories from the French press and company-related news which could have an impact on the French market or individual stocks.

THOMSON SA TMS.PA

French media technology group Thomson SA named former Citigroup Inc executive Francois de Carbonnel as its new chairman, with the company under pressure after a series of poor results.

EADS (EAD.PA)

EADS CEO Louis Gallois defended the European aerospace group's financial transparency in an interview with Les Echos, after French regulators said they had found evidence of insider trading at EADS.

EADS is in talks with several parties over the possible sale of its Socata aviation manufacturing unit, French newspaper La Tribune reported.

La Tribune said French aerospace group Daher was interested in Socata, as well as several unnamed investment funds.

TOTAL (TOTF.PA)

Russian regions are claiming up to $170 billion from oil group Total in a legal case going back to the tumultous expansion time at Elf Aquitaine, now part of Total, the Le Figaro newspaper said.

The chief executive of Total said that oil prices were likely to remain high because of a rise in demand while production was not sufficient to meet that.

"The real subject of worry today is that there is a strong demand and a supply that is not following," Christophe de Margerie told French newspaper Liberation in an interview.

EIFFAGE (FOUG.PA)/CALYON (CAGR.PA)

Paris judges have summoned to a court hearing in May the heads of Spanish construction group Sacyr (SVO.MC) and French bank Calyon over a long-running dispute between Sacyr and French group Eiffage (FOUG.PA), Le Point magazine reported.

Sacyr and Calyon could not be immediately reached for comment on the Le Point report.

French group said its Lagardere Active unit had agreed to buy British website Digitalspy.co.uk for an undisclosed amount.
