HELSINKI, April 10 (Reuters) - German truck manufacturer MAN (MANG.DE) is not required to launch a bid for Sweden's Scania (SCVb.ST), the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority said on Thursday.

The watchdog had investigated whether MAN and Volkswagen (VOWG.DE) acted in concert in amassing a majority in Scania, which Swedish media has said might trigger a compulsory bid by MAN.

"FI has ruled that it is VW, as the largest owner in Scania ... that should meet the obligation to launch a bid," the authority said in a statement. (Reporting by Sami Torma)
