Seoul shares up led by techs, but LG Display falls

SEOUL, April 11 | Thu Apr 10, 2008 8:06pm EDT

SEOUL, April 11 (Reuters) - Seoul stocks opened 0.2 percent higher on Friday led by technology shares, which were boosted by solid earnings outlooks and a rally in Wall Street peers overnight after a brokerage upgrade of chipmakers.

Flat screen maker LG Display (034220.KS), however, fell 2 percent in the wake of its results announcement after the close on Thursday and pricing uncertainties.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index was up 0.34 percent at 1,770.59 points as of 0002 GMT.
