CVC raises $4.1 bln for Asian investment fund
LONDON, April 17 |
LONDON, April 17 (Reuters) - British private equity firm CVC Capital Partners [CVC.UL] said on Thursday it had raised $4.1 billion for an investment fund targeting companies in the Asia Pacific region.
This is the third and biggest Asian fund raised by CVC and includes both international institutional investors and individuals.
It will be used to focus on companies in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Greater China, CVC said.
"This part of the world exhibits certain strong economic fundamentals and is an area in which we continue to see excellent opportunities," CVC Chairman Michael Smith said in a statement.
Citigroup is expected to be a significant investor in the fund but will not be a joint venture partner, CVC said. (Reporting by Jonathan Saul; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
