ProGenTech Limited Appoints Executive Management Team

EMERYVILLE, Calif., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- ProGenTech, a life sciences
company based in Shanghai, China and Emeryville, CA is please to announce that
it has made several executive management appointments to build out its global
senior management team.
Dr. Paul Richardson has joined ProGenTech as its Vice President for R&D
based in Emeryville, CA. Dr. Richardson will lead the global R&D programs and
have accountability for the company's assay development and reagent solutions.
Dr. Richardson was previously the head of R&D at the DOE's Joint Genome
Institute where for the past ten years he had led the advanced research teams
supporting the human genome project as well as the microbial genome
initiatives and other model organism programs. Dr. Richardson brings a wealth
of life science knowledge to the company.
Dr. Jesus Ching has been appointed the Chief Scientist for ProGenTech and
will be based in Emeryville, CA. Dr. Ching was a founder of ProGenTech and has
been instrumental in the design and development in the products to date. Dr.
Ching will have accountability for the external scientific programs as well as
our technical lead on business development activities. Dr. Ching was
previously the director of R&D at Cepheid and brings deep knowledge and
experience in integrated systems and diagnostic platforms.
Sarah Wenning has joined ProGenTech as its Vice President of US
operations, based in Emeryville CA. Ms. Wenning will have accountability for
all US programs. She was previously the deputy associate director for
operations of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Biosciences Directorate
and has held a number of senior management roles within Lawrence Livermore for
the past ten years. Sarah brings significant operational expertise to the
company.
Dylan Bird has joined ProGenTech as its Director of Business Development,
based in Emeryville, CA. Mr. Bird will have accountability for global strategy
and business development activities. Prior to joining ProGenTech, Mr. Bird was
an investment professional at Bay City Capital, one of the two VC's that were
part of the recently announced Series C financing.
David Hu has joined ProGenTech as its Vice President of Engineering, based
in Shanghai. Mr Hu will have accountability for all engineering programs and
new system development and commercialization. David will work closely with
Paul Richardson to define our new product roadmaps. David was the lead Angel
investor for ProGenTech and remains a member of the ProGenTech board. David
has made a career as an entrepreneur and has successfully started, capitalized
and sold several businesses in the consumer electronics field.
