PHILADELPHIA, PA, Apr 17 (MARKET WIRE) --
On behalf of Solarmer Energy, Inc., Dr. Vishal Shrotriya will be presenting
at Organic Photovoltaics 2008 in Philadelphia, PA on April 23, 2008. Dr.
Shrotriya, who leads Solarmer's product development efforts, will present the
latest
breakthroughs from the company's R&D lab.

"This is a critical time for product development in our company," said
Shrotriya, "our R&D operations have been up and running for about 10
monthsnow and we have made significant progress toward developing our commercial
grade
prototype. At the same time, we are looking ahead to post prototype development
and
building a platform to transition into the product integration phase."

Solarmer has defined its commercial grade prototype as having 8%
efficiencyand 3+ years lifetime in a solar cell that is at least 50 cm squared
and
plans to demonstrate this prototype in approximately 18 months. Key to
achieving this goal is Solarmer's device engineering expertise, which allows
them to provide up to 20% efficiency improvements to any polymer material's
performance.

Solarmer's plastic solar cells will be translucent, flexible, and
lightweight, which will open up new applications for solar cells, particularly
in the digital portable electronics industry and as window coverings for home
and auto use.

"We are looking forward to providing personal clean tech solutions to
individual consumers," said Woolas Hsieh, founder and President of Solarmer.
"We envision solar power becoming a standard supplement to battery power in
the portable electronics industry."
