MANN+HUMMEL, a major global leader in filtration and supplier of
automotive air and fluid management systems and components, continues
to expand its product development, testing and manufacturing
operations in North America.
PORTAGE, Mich.--(Business Wire)--
Expanded engineering support in its Portage, Michigan facility
will benefit all of MANN+HUMMEL's North American operations. The
enhancements at Portage are part of the investment that MANN+HUMMEL
will make in North America in the next few years, on both product
development and manufacturing facilities, to expand its filtration
technology.

The company's Portage, Michigan headquarters plant plays a major
role in MANN+HUMMEL's North American growth strategy. The Portage
facility along with the South Bend location began production of three
new products in 2007 and anticipates four more program launches in
2008 for domestic and transplant OEMs.

With the recent joint venture to acquire Purolator products,
MANN+HUMMEL is staffing aggressively to pursue liquid filtration
business in fuel (diesel and gasoline), engine oil, and automatic
transmissions markets. To support this effort, MANN+HUMMEL's NAFTA
operations is adding three engineers specializing in fluid filtration.

A significant part of MANN+HUMMEL's North American growth plan is
also based on its new facilities in Queretaro, Mexico. Dating back to
its first facility in Mexico in 1991, the new plant is part of a
commitment to grow their NAFTA presence. The new Queretaro facility
enables the company to increase both OEM and aftermarket activities,
with a special focus on filtration production.

Four new filtration-product programs were launched successfully
and a second filter element production line was completed at the
Queretaro, Mexico plant in 2005. A new filtration product program for
Nissan was launched in 2006, which will help support the growth of the
MANN+HUMMEL Mexico operations. A new heavy duty filter element line
and a new oil filter element line were also completed in 2006.

In 2007 MANN+HUMMEL launched an air induction system for the BMW
X5 SUV, an intake manifold for the Toyota Camry 1.8L I4 and a high
efficiency transmission filter used in Ford medium duty truck
transmissions, which also received honorable mention in the Automotive
News 2008 PACE award competition.

   For 2008 MANN+HUMMEL will launch a new intake manifold for a 3.5L
high output V6, new air induction systems for two popular midsized
cars and a new intake manifold for a Quad 4 recreational vehicle.
MANN+HUMMEL anticipates delivery of their first diesel particulate
filter to an off-highway OEM early in 2008.

Expansion of Queretaro's filter element capabilities, including
new technologies and equipment, are planned to support continued
leadership and growth in the filter manufacturing sector into 2009.

Queretaro is currently undergoing another building expansion of
approximately 5,500 sqm. This includes enlargement of the production
floor, a new warehouse area and new offices. Production capabilities
will be enhanced through the addition of new machines and processes to
include injection molding and blow molding machines, a paper cutting
machine, new filter manufacturing equipment to produce oval filters
and a new machine for recycling glue foil (adhesive film).

"We're encouraged by our continued success in North America," said
Mathieu, President & CEO of MANN+HUMMEL USA Inc. "The dedicated work
force at our four North American locations has helped us to provide an
increasing variety of high quality components to North American
automakers," Mathieu said.

In 2007 MANN+HUMMEL USA, Inc. Introduced the largest pressurized
coolant expansion tank ever made by MANN+HUMMEL, weighing in at 2,940
kg. It will be used in trucks built by Volvo Truck N. America and MACK
Trucks Inc.

Known for its product innovation and quality, MANN+HUMMEL will
introduce a variety of new technologies in 2008.
