SEATTLE--(Business Wire)--
WaMu (NYSE: WM) today announced it has taken the lead in customer
satisfaction among the top five online banks, with 78% of its
customers reporting they are "highly satisfied," as reported in an
annual "State of Online Banking" study conducted by comScore, Inc. The
study polled online consumers about satisfaction with various
financial institutions, including banks, credit card companies and
brokerages. The designation complements WaMu's 2007 J.D. Power and
Associates customer satisfaction ranking as #1 retail bank in the West
and Midwest regions.

"We work hard to make the online banking experience simpler,
faster and more personalized, and we're pleased to see such positive
response from customers," said Richard Blunck, SVP, and Director of
eCommerce for WaMu.

WaMu is a leading provider of online financial services, and its
site, www.wamu.com, has received widespread industry and consumer
recognition, averaging more than 3,300 online applications submitted
per day. The site is consistently ranked as one of Keynote's top
online banking sites. The online banking site also continues to be at
the top of the Gomez ratings for site response time; more than 1
second faster than the second-quickest site, and more than twice as
fast as the industry benchmark. In January of 2007, WaMu launched a
new version of the site with enhanced navigation and functionality.
