Energy East Declares Quarterly Dividend

PORTLAND, Maine, April 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors
of Energy East Corporation (NYSE: EAS) today declared a quarterly dividend of
31 cents per share on the Common Stock of the Corporation payable May 15,
2008, to holders of record at the close of business April 28, 2008.
