SUGAR LAND, Texas, April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Exousia Advanced
Materials, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: EXOU) announces that it is moving forward
with strategic marketing partner Northern International Group (NIG) to
introduce Structurally Insulated Panels - SIPs - to the Chinese housing
industry. The two companies have entered into a Letter of Intent to jointly
market and manufacture SIPs housing in China. This agreement provides Exousia
the opportunity to commercialize the company's technical competencies and
experience it possesses in SIPs manufacturing while NIG establishes
manufacturing operations in China to supply the country's high-demand,
residential housing sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, Exousia and NIG intend to form a joint
venture to manufacture and market SIPs homes in China to supply the enormous
demand for cost-effective, quick-build residential housing. Exousia will
provide NIG with model homes and home designs, along with factory equipment
and training. NIG will become the Chinese manufacturer of SIPs components, and
both companies will collaborate on marketing. To introduce the SIPs concept,
the companies plan to construct a model home in Tianjin. The targeted volume
is to manufacture up to 3,000 middle class homes, with initial activity
anticipated in the range of 200 homes.
The Chinese economy is ideally suited to adopt SIPs on a large-scale. The
high-growth Chinese economy is driving rapid increases in personal income and
urbanization. Demand for real estate is booming with prices rising 15%-30% per
year in major metropolitan areas. The Chinese are also demanding larger, more
Western-style homes. Between 2000 and 2007, per capita living space increased
from 10.3 square meters to 27 square meters. In order to house 1.3 billion
Chinese in dwellings consistent with their increased income levels, China
needs construction techniques to quickly and cost-effectively erect housing
structures. SIPs construction is an excellent solution.
SIPs is a mature, industry-accepted and building-code compliant
construction technique. SIPs are pre-formed building components that are
assembled into structures on building sites. The panels consist of rigid
insulating foam laminated between two sheets of Oriented Strand Board. SIPs
replace traditional framing for wall and roof systems, and exceed ordinary
load and span capacities of conventional home construction methods. With SIPs,
homes can be built 30%-40% faster, cost 30%-40% less to heat and cool, and are
made with non-toxic, termite resistant materials.
"The SIPs construction technique fits perfectly with the needs of the
Chinese economy," notes Exousia CEO J. Wayne Rodrigue. "Exousia is excited
about the opportunity to participate in this vital sector."
