WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(Business Wire)--
ConEdison Solutions, one of America's leading energy service
providers, has received formal accreditation as an energy services
company (ESCO) from the State of North Carolina.

As a State-accredited ESCO, the company is entitled to offer a
range of energy efficiency services to State-owned agencies and
universities.

Last year, the North Carolina State Senate allocated $200 million
for use by State-owned agencies and universities to implement
energy-saving upgrades in 2008 by tapping the services of approved
providers.

"Energy efficiency saves taxpayer dollars, preserves the
environment and reduces America's dependence on overseas fuel
supplies," said Jorge J. Lopez, President and CEO of ConEdison
Solutions. "By making a substantial commitment to energy-efficient
public buildings, the State of North Carolina is setting an excellent
example for state governments nationwide."

"ConEdison Solutions is proud that we have been formally
accredited as an energy services provider by the State of North
Carolina," said Mr. Lopez. "We intend to work in partnership with
public institutions to help build a cleaner and greener future for
North Carolina."

ConEdison Solutions is looking forward to building upon the
positive commitment for immediate and substantial improvements in
energy efficiency voiced at the North Carolina Institute for Emerging
Ideas Focus on Energy. ConEdison Solutions will work to coordinate its
efforts with the state's two major utilities, Duke Power and Progress
Energy. In addition to lowering energy costs for taxpayers and
consumers, the North Carolina energy initiative will also reduce the
need to build or expand power generation facilities.

Based in White Plains, NY, ConEdison Solutions has an office in
Durham, North Carolina. Interested North Carolina power users can call
Aaron Rittenhouse at 703-399-1961.
