International Absorbents Expands International Sales of CareFRESH(R) With
Japell USA, Distributor to 5,000 Japanese Retail Stores

FERNDALE, Wash., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International
Absorbents Inc. (Amex: IAX), a leading developer and producer of
environmentally-friendly pet care and industrial products, today announced
that Japell, USA has become a distributor for the Company's line of
CareFRESH(R) products in the Japanese market.
The Company has shipped its first Japanese language bags of CareFRESH(R)
brand small animal bedding through its new distribution partner Japell, USA.
Japell is part of a larger organization with distribution centers and a sales
force covering all of Japan. The initial containers en route to Japan
consisted of CareFRESH(R) natural, CareFRESH(R) Ultra and CareFRESH(R) Colors.
Based on presales by Japell, the first container that lands in Japan is
already sold out.
