PITTSBURGH, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- SMC Business Councils' Manufacturing
Council will sponsor a "Sources of Funding for Workforce Training" seminar on
Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Westinghouse Research & Technology Park in
Churchill.
This program was organized at the request of SMC's manufacturing-members
who are finding it increasingly difficult to find skilled workers. One
solution to this critical problem is to bring workforce training in-house.
Several organizations offering funding for workforce development will be
represented at this workshop. They are: Donna Reiling, Pennsylvania Department
of Community & Economic Development; Angel Marschick, CL Fund; Arthur Tintori,
Catalyst Connection; Mark Mervos, Community College of Allegheny County;
Richard Robert, Penn State University; and Ronald Painter, Three Rivers
Workforce Investment Board. A question and answer session will follow their
formal presentations.
There is no charge for this program which will run from 8:30 a.m. until
12:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required on the SMC website -- www.smc.org.
