General Maritime Corporation Announces First Quarter 2008 Earnings Release,
Conference Call and Webcast

NEW YORK, April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- General Maritime Corporation
(NYSE: GMR) announced today that it will hold a conference call to discuss the
Company's results for the first quarter of 2008 on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at
10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The Company will issue financial results for the
first quarter ended March 31, 2008 on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 after the
close of market trading.
