Regions Stockholders Re-Elect 6 Directors at Annual Meeting; CEO Dowd Ritter's Presentation Available by Webcast

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(Business Wire)--
Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE: RF) held its annual meeting today
at the company's Birmingham headquarters, and stockholders re-elected
six directors. Stockholders also ratified the selection of Ernst &
Young LLP as Regions' independent auditors for 2008.

   The six directors re-elected to the Board are David J. Cooper Sr.,
Earnest W. Deavenport Jr., Dr. John E. Maupin Jr., Charles D. McCrary,
Jorge M. Perez and Spence L. Wilson. As previously announced, the
terms of two other directors ended at the meeting.

   Following the annual meeting, Chairman, President and CEO Dowd
Ritter addressed stockholders, discussing the company's successful
merger integration and outlining the company's strategic plan.
