First New Look in a Decade Creates Opportunities; Special
                         Unveiling on April 17
SEATTLE--(Business Wire)--
The most significant redesign in the Puget Sound Business
Journal's history will be unveiled at an exclusive, invitation-only
launch party for key business and community leaders this evening,
hosted by Business Journal Publisher Emory Thomas Jr. The inaugural
redesigned issue, which hits the streets the following day on April
18, will have nearly double the regular distribution through street
teams, targeted drops and a special mailing.

"After a great deal of time in research and planning, including
reader feedback, focus groups, surveys, prototypes and more, we're
excited to share our new look with the community," Thomas said. "We
hope our current and future readers recognize that an updated look
will help to better deliver trends and analysis, while remaining the
top-of-the-line local, breaking business news source they've come to
trust."

Key changes to the Puget Sound Business Journal beginning April 18
 include:

 1. BETTER NAVIGATION. To help readers find the best coverage,
"teasers" or index items have been added to all section fronts.
In addition, we upgraded the table of contents and clarified the
    page labels.
 2. BETTER WAYS TO LEARN WHO'S MAKING NEWS. The new "Newsmakers" index
on the last inside page of the paper offers a quick guide to
every person and company appearing in the week's news stories.
 3. BETTER WAYS TO REACH CUSTOMERS. We created new, premium
advertising positions to drive advertisers' messages directly to
    the region's top business leaders.
 4. EASIER READING. We increased the size of the body copy type to
    improve the newspaper's readability.
 5. RICHER, MORE INFORMATIVE HEADLINES. Caslon, the new headline font,
is a more efficient typeface, which means we can write more
    informative headlines for readers.
 6. STRONGER VISUALS. Greater use of visual cues through more charts,
graphs and maps provides more information for readers.
 7. BETTER WAYS TO GET CONNECTED. With the new "Readers' Guide,"
readers will know who is covering each sector, what Business
Journal events, nominations and awards are coming up, and how to
reach key newspaper contacts. This content will be updated
    weekly.
 8. MORE NEWS UPDATES. In a new feature called "Scoreboard," reporters
revisit headlines from a year ago to update them -- noting new
developments and what may be ahead on vital stories.
 9. MORE QUICK-HIT NEWS. A new feature, "The Insider," assembles
short, relevant and revealing news breaks.
10. GREATER FLEXIBILITY TO SERVE OUR READERS. We've dissolved many
standard story formats, opening up our ability to play news based
entirely on where it belongs in the paper, and what form it
should take. It's the same strong content as ever -- but
    unleashed to serve you better.

"The redesign gives us new features, better navigation and
stronger visuals, and helps our team tell better stories," said Editor
George Erb. "We'll deliver the exclusive insight and analysis our
readers expect, in a more efficient and authoritative design."
