(Corrects to remove extraneous in the first paragraph)
LONDON, April 17 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening up as much as 0.5 percent on Thursday, according to financial bookmakers, lifted by a Wall Street rally as the outlook of corporate earnings reassured investors.
U.S. stocks vaulted higher overnight after Intel Corp (INTC.O), JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) and other blue chips reported earnings that reassured investors worried that a weak economy would sap corporate profits. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei .N225 rose 2 percent.
Financial bookmakers expected the FTSE 100 to open 30 to 32 points higher, having closed up 139.3 points, or 2.4 percent at 6,046.2 in the previous session.
"We are calling the indexes higher on the back of the U.S. move," said Ranjan Singh, a dealer at IG Markets. A Treasury source said late on Wednesday that the British government was not poised to announce any new measures to boost liquidity for mortgage lenders as there was still work to be done on proposals to ease the credit crunch. * Wall St jumps as corporate profits reassure [nN16308037] * Nikkei up 2.3 pct; exporters rise after US earnings[nT214295] * Asian shares rise on earnings, oil at new high [nSP87587] * Dlr holds near record low vs euro on rate outlook [nT279306] * Oil at $115 record as dollar, US fuel stocks fall [nSP249284] * Gold clings to gains as dollar, oil eyed [nT277721] * Treasuries fall as stock rally crimps safety bid [nN16581557]
