Iran says has serious proposals on nuclear row
TEHRAN |
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has prepared a package of proposals that covers a nuclear dispute with the West and other issues, Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili said on Monday after talks with a senior Russian official.
"Iran ... has serious proposals regarding the nuclear issue, about what to do to minimize the nuclear threat around the world," Jalili told a news conference without giving details of the package.
A senior Iranian official said the package was discussed with Valentin Sobolev, acting secretary of Russia's National Security Council. Sobolev, speaking through a translator, said Iran's nuclear program was peaceful.
