DETROIT (Reuters) - U.S. April auto sales fell 14 percent from a year earlier on an adjusted basis, according to data from auto manufacturers on Thursday. The following are highlights from the largest carmakers in the U.S. market.

Overall industry

* Total light vehicle sales -- 1.25 million units.

General Motors Corp (GM.N) (excluding Saab)

* Light vehicle sales down adjusted 22.6 percent (256,058 units), unadjusted sales down 16 percent

* Year-to-date sales down 12.2 percent

* Inventories at month-end: 824,000 units

* Cars/trucks: Car sales down adjusted 7.3 percent/light truck sales down 32.3 percent

* Market share: 20.5 percent

* Key vehicles: Chevrolet Impala down 12.4 percent, Chevrolet Malibu up 28.8 percent, Chevrolet Silverado down 30.5 percent, Chevrolet Tahoe down 34.9 percent, GMC Sierra down 27.7 percent.

* Incentives: average $3,300 per vehicle, up from $2,803 a year earlier.

Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T)(TM.N)

* Vehicle sales down adjusted 4.5 percent (217,700 units), unadjusted sales up 3.4 percent

* Year-to-date sales down 3.3 percent

* Market share: 17.5 percent

* Cars/trucks: Car sales up adjusted 3.3 percent/trucks down 14.9 percent

* Key vehicles: Tundra down 13.2 percent, Camry down 2.6 percent, Prius up 53.8 percent, Corolla down 7.3 percent

* Incentives: averaged $880 per vehicle, up from $714 a year earlier.

Ford Motor Co (F.N)

* Vehicle sales down 18.5 percent (188,527 units) on an adjusted basis, unadjusted sales down 11.8 percent

* Inventories at month-end were 584,000 units, up 18,000 units from a year earlier

* Retail/fleet sales: Retail sales of Ford, Lincoln, Mercury down 7 percent/total fleet sales down 20 percent on an unadjusted basis

* Cars/trucks: Car sales down 8.3 percent/truck sales down 24 percent on an adjusted basis

* Market share: 15.1 percent including Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo

* Key vehicles: F-Series down 21.0 percent on an unadjusted basis, Explorer down 38.5 percent, Expedition down 35.5 percent, Focus up 43.5 percent, Fusion up 22.4 percent.

* Incentives: averaged $3,074 per vehicle, up from $3,044 a year earlier.

Chrysler LLC

* Car and light truck sales down adjusted 29.4 percent (166,386 units), unadjusted sales down 23.5 percent

* Cars/trucks: Car sales down 19 percent/truck sales down 25 percent on unadjusted basis.

* Market share: 11.9 percent

* Inventories at month-end were 422,353 units, or a 74-day supply, down 13 percent from year ago.

* Key vehicles: Jeep Wrangler down 19 percent, Dodge Ram pickup down 23 percent, Dodge Caliber down 5 percent, all on an unadjusted basis.

* Incentives: average $3,835 per vehicle, down from $4,247 a year earlier.

Honda Motor Co (7267.T)(HMC.N)

Honda had not reported full results on Thursday.

Nissan Motor Co Ltd (7201.T)

* Car and light truck sales down an adjusted 1.6 percent year over year (75,855); up 6.2 percent unadjusted.

* Market share: 6.1 percent

* Cars/trucks: Cars up adjusted 11.1 percent/trucks down 18.5 percent

* Key vehicles: Altima up adjusted 28.1 percent, Versa up 26.4 percent, Sentra up 25.5 percent, Titan down 54.9 percent, Frontier down 37.7 percent.

* Incentives: average $1,890 per vehicle, down from $1,953 a year earlier.
