PARIS May 9 (Reuters) - European stock index futures pointed to a lower start on Friday on renewed worries over the financial services sector after U.S. insurer giant AIG (AIG.N) posted a $7.8 billion quarterly loss, hit by bad credit-related investments.

At 0602 GMT, futures for the Eurostoxx 50 STXEM8, Germany's DAX FDXM8 and the French CAC 40 FCEc1 were down between 0.7 and 0.9 percent. (Reporting by Blaise Robinson)
