Viacom joint venture hires ex-Showtime exec as CEO

NEW YORK (Reuters) - An entertainment joint venture formed by Viacom Inc, its Paramount Pictures unit, and film studios Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp said on Monday that it hired former Showtime cable executive Mark Greenberg as its chief executive.

Greenberg was executive vice president for Showtime Networks, where he was responsible for corporate strategy, business planning, new business development and digital media, Viacom said in a press release. Showtime is a CBS Corp subsidiary.
