Ultimate Software's Development Team Honored with Two Finalist Designations in 2008 American Business Awards(sm)

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of end-to-end

announced today that its Development team was named a finalist in two
categories, "Best Product Development Organization" and "Best Product
Development Team," by the American Business Awards in its Stevie Award
competition. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and
in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more
than 40 categories.

Among the achievements of the Ultimate Software Development team
in 2007 were its delivery of the first single-database
software-as-a-service (SaaS) payroll and human resources solution for
management of Canadian employees and the successful execution of three
very different strategies simultaneously:

-- changing to Microsoft C#.NET and ASP.NET, enhancing the

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors
and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among Finalists
in final judging during the week of May 19. Finalists were chosen by
business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April
through early May.
