Hawaii State Online Renewals for Professional Licensees Continue to Increase

96 Percent of Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape
                       Architects Renewed Online

   Discounts Available to an Additional 13,400 Professionals if They
                Renew Online at http://www.eHawaii.gov
HONOLULU--(Business Wire)--
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' (DCCA)
Professional and Vocational Licensing Division (PVL) today reported an
increase in online renewals for professional licensees. License
renewals for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects
(EASLA) concluded on April 30, 2008, with nearly 7,000 (96%) of
Hawaii's EASLA licensed professionals choosing to renew their licenses
online at http://www.eHawaii.gov.

   Currently, an additional 13,400 licensed professionals are now
eligible to renew their licenses online at http://www.eHawaii.gov or
http://pvl.ehawaii.gov/renewals. Professionals able to renew online
for this cycle include:

   --  Motor Vehicle Auction, Brokers, Consumer Consultants, Dealers,
        Branch Location and Salespersons

   --  Osteopaths

   --  Elevator Mechanics

   --  Massage Establishments

   --  Massage Therapists

   --  Mental Health Counselors

   --  Nursing Home Administrators

   --  Pest Control Field Representatives and Operators

   --  Psychologists

   --  Veterinarians

   --  Dispensing Opticians

   By renewing online, professionals receive a 25 percent customer
appreciation credit on the renewal fee and a 10 percent discount on
the compliance resolution fund fee.

   Instructions for completing the online renewal and details of the
online discounts have been mailed to each current license holder.
Online renewals will be accepted until midnight on June 30, 2008
except for Dispensing Opticians who have until midnight July 1, 2008.
After that date, renewals will not be accepted online, and renewals
must be submitted by mail.

   The development of this online service is part of the state's
ongoing initiative to improve efficiency by implementing electronic
and more efficient government services. The online renewal service was
created through a partnership with the State of Hawaii's, Department
of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Professional and Vocational
Licensing Division and the state's Internet Portal Manager, Hawaii
Information Consortium.
