nCircle Extends Leading Agentless Configuration Compliance Solution With Nine
New CIS-Certified Configuration Policies
Solution Provides Expanded Coverage for Common Enterprise Operating Systems
and Applications
SAN FRANCISCO, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- nCircle, the leading provider of
agentless security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced
the release of nine new configuration policies certified by the Center for
Internet Security (CIS). The new policies are included in nCircle
Configuration Compliance Manager(TM) (CCM), and extend nCircle's industry-
leading coverage of common operating system and platform configurations. The
policies help enterprises benchmark the configuration state of their critical
systems based on CIS standards, and enable proactive compliance monitoring and
alerting.
nCircle CCM automates configuration auditing and compliance processes
including file integrity monitoring, providing visibility into system
configurations and the compliance impact of changes to servers, workstations
and network infrastructure devices. Uniquely using agentless technology, CCM
enables enterprises to audit the configurations of more types of devices,
operating systems, and applications than any competing solution.
CIS benchmarks are technical controls designed to improve the security
configuration of enterprise systems and devices. The benchmarks are widely
accepted by U.S. government agencies for FISMA compliance, and by auditors for
compliance with PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and other the information
security-centric regulatory requirements.
"Enterprises constantly struggle to ensure the security and accepted
configuration of their various critical systems and applications. Proactive
monitoring, baselining and alerting helps ensure systems are secure and
compliant," said Clint Kreitner, president and CEO of CIS. "nCircle's addition
of these nine new CIS-certified policies will help their customers achieve and
maintain a known, trusted state compliant with these widely accepted
benchmarks."
The nine new CIS certified policies cover common enterprise operating
systems and applications: -- CIS Benchmark Level 1 for AIX v 1.01
-- CIS Benchmark Level 1 for Solaris 2.5.1-9.0 v 1.3
-- CIS Benchmark Level 1 for Windows 2000 v. 1.2.2
-- CIS Benchmark Level 2 for Windows 2000 Server v. 2.2.1
-- CIS Level 1 Benchmark for HPUX v1.4.1

-- CIS Level 1 Benchmark for Solaris 10 v2.1.3
-- Windows Server 2003 Member Server Benchmark v2.0
-- Windows Server 2003 for Domain Controllers Benchmark v2.0
The new policies are delivered in nCircle CCM, nCircle's agentless
solution that automates configuration auditing and compliance processes,
providing visibility into system configurations and the compliance impact of
changes. With the addition of the new policies, CCM now includes 17 CIS-
certified benchmarks. In addition to the new benchmarks listed above, CCM also

add to nCircle's industry-leading coverage, enabling our enterprise customers
to proactively audit and monitor their global networks, and do so continuously
