HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(Business Wire)--
Digium(R), Inc., the Asterisk(R) Company, today announced the
appointment of well-respected Asterisk Community veteran John Todd as
Digium's Open Source Community Director, highlighting Digium's role as
the creator and innovative source behind the Asterisk open source PBX
and telephony project. Digium also announced the appointment of Steve
Burcham as Customer Quality Director in a move that will further
strengthen the company's industry-leading customer service and quality
commitment.
Todd has been an active Asterisk Community developer for five
years. A former Digium Asterisk World moderator, he has contributed to
the community by building Asterisk-based solutions for several
companies, most recently as founder and CTO of TalkPlus. In his new
role as Open Source Community Director, Todd will represent Digium in
the open source community and work with the community to drive the
development of Asterisk. He will play a key role in organizing
AstriCon, the official Asterisk conference to be held Sept. 23-25,
2008 in Glendale, Ariz.
"For a guy who's been eating, breathing and sleeping Asterisk the
last five years, it's a dream job to work full-time strengthening and
improving the Asterisk project and working with other community
members," said Todd. "I'm excited to build AstriCon into the
'must-attend' conference for the Asterisk Community and continue
Digium's role at the center of the Asterisk project." Todd, a graduate
of the University of Rochester (N.Y.), replaces Community Relations
Manager Jared Smith, who is now Digium's Training Manager.
As Customer Quality Director, Burcham will be responsible for
building upon Digium's high level of customer service. Burcham joins
Digium from Continental Automotive Systems, where he led over 200
employees in Quality and other disciplines. Burcham has also held
executive operations positions at Siemens and DaimlerChrysler. In
February, Digium made its commitment to quality clear by announcing
its Exceptional Satisfaction Program, which guaranteed the quality of
its products and remains the most aggressive guarantee program in the
open source telephony market.
"Digium is making 'open source' synonymous with 'quality' in the
telephony market," said Burcham. "As someone who has spent years
improving manufacturing and quality processes, I'm looking forward to
building on Digium's success." Burcham holds an MBA from Auburn
University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in
Huntsville.
"The appointment of such talented people as John Todd and Steve
Burcham highlights how much Digium values the quality of our
relationship with the Asterisk Community and with our customers," said
Danny Windham, Digium's chief executive officer. "These twin pillars -
our customer base and the Asterisk Community - are our greatest
strengths and what make Digium unique in the telephony industry."
