2008 American Express(R) Women's Golf Month Supported by Golf For Women
Magazine Set for June

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Move over boys. June is
American Express(R) Women's Golf Month, a nationwide initiative supported by
Golf For Women magazine. More than 68,000 women across the country have
learned golf or been re-introduced to the game over the past three years
during American Express Women's Golf Week, and due to the overwhelming success
of the promotion, organizers extended it to the entire month of June.

    LPGA Tour Hall of Fame member and golf legend Nancy Lopez and renowned
PGA/LPGA Professional Suzy Whaley are the national spokeswomen.
    In its fourth year, American Express Women's Golf Month will provide women
all the opportunities to learn and play golf in a women friendly environment.
Participating golf facilities will offer complimentary instruction for women
ages 14 and older along with a variety of activities, such as networking
receptions, golf rules and etiquette seminars, club fitting and equipment
demonstrations, golf apparel fashion shows, luncheons and playing experiences
and contests with a focus on fun.
    "American Express Women's Golf Month is the perfect opportunity for women
across the country to visit their local course and enjoy an event created just
for them," said Anne Lyndrup, director of player development for the National
Golf Course Owners Association and spokesperson for Women's Golf Month
organizers.

    Last year, golf courses saw record participation -- a 39 percent increase
-- with more than 34,200 women turning out for Play Golf America activities
throughout the week. A record total of 1,358 facilities across the country
hosted an event in 2007, more than doubling the previous facility record of
585.
    The PGA of America estimates that Women's Golf Week had a $2 million
financial impact on the golf industry last year with host facilities reporting
$2,150 in revenues from program activities on average.
    American Express Women's Golf Month is part of the national PGA Play Golf
America campaign. It is coordinated by industry-leading organizations,
including the Executive Women's Golf Association, the Golf Course
Superintendents Association of America, the Ladies Professional Golf
Association, the National Golf Course Owners Association and The PGA of
America.
