Evergrid(R) Teams With Livermore Software Technology Corp. to Provide High Availability Solution

Evergrid's Availability Services(TM) Software Integrates With
LS-DYNA(R) for Seamless Checkpoint/Resume Capabilities
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Evergrid and Livermore Software Technology Corp. (LSTC) today
announced a transparent checkpoint/resume solution for LSTC's flagship
LS-DYNA application. With the integration, Evergrid Availability
Services (AvS) enables LS-DYNA customers to protect valuable compute
cycles and time against unplanned application and system downtime.

With the combination of Evergrid AvS and LS-DYNA, customers can
checkpoint a running job at any time during execution without stopping
or pausing the job. The job can also be preempted for a higher
priority project, freeing up system resources, such as CPU, memory and
the LS-DYNA license. After a system failure or completion of the
higher priority project, the job can be restarted seamlessly from the
last checkpoint without wasting valuable compute cycles. "With
Evergrid AvS, LS-DYNA customers can ensure that they can meet their
projects' deadlines even with unexpected system failures or other
interruptions," said Dr. Wayne Mindle of LSTC.

LSTC's popular LS-DYNA is a flexible, general purpose, transient
dynamic, finite element analysis program. Engineers employ LS-DYNA to
simulate a wide range of complex real-world problems that involve
time-dependent, nonlinear events.

Evergrid's AvS software provides checkpoint/resume capabilities
for parallel and serial applications. Organizations can integrate AvS
with their existing resource management product to ensure critical
applications always run to completion. AvS provides a non-blocking
checkpoint capability for a running LS-DYNA job. Customers do not need
to make any modifications to the OS or LS-DYNA and AvS is compatible
with LSTC's own licensing solution. "We are very excited to partner
with LSTC to deliver a high availability solution for LS-DYNA, helping
our customers meet their service level agreements (SLAs)," said Fred
Van Den Bosch, CEO of Evergrid.
