Baker To Delay Reporting of First Quarter 2008 Financial Results

PITTSBURGH, May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Michael Baker Corporation
(Amex: BKR) (the "Company") announced today that it recently filed with the
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Form 12b-25, advising that the
Company would be delayed in reporting its financial results for the first
quarter of 2008 while it works to complete the previously announced
restatement and file the related reports with the SEC.  The Company expects to
issue preliminary and unaudited financial information for the first quarter of
2008 compared to the actual and reported results, prior to any restatement,
for the same period in 2007, on May 27, 2008.  The Company will be providing
these preliminary results in an effort to keep its shareholders informed about
the performance of the Company while it works to complete the aforementioned
restatement.

    The Company provided its reasons for the delay in the filing of Form 10-K
