Human Resource Executive(R) Releases Agenda for 11th Annual HR Technology(R)
Conference & Exposition
- For the Newest and Best in HR Technologies and Trends, Visit Chicago's
McCormick Place October 15-17, 2008 -
HORSHAM, Pa., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Human Resource Executive(R) Magazine
today announced the agenda for the publication's 11th Annual HR Technology(R)
Conference & Exposition, being held October 15-17 at McCormick Place in
Chicago. The event, which one past attendee called "The single most useful and
educational event in HR technology," is now the largest of its kind in the
world after attendance increased by 33 percent last year and doubled in just
three years. The exposition, with more than 250 exhibiting companies, is also
the largest of its kind.
Editor Dave Shadovitz and technology columnist Bill Kutik have, for 11
years, created an educational program addressing what HR executives need to
learn today about getting business benefits from technology. They have also
provided the leading venue for discovering new technologies, networking, and
learning from peers and industry experts. This year's conference will focus on
the three biggest issues facing HR executives today: Talent Management, Web
2.0 and Workforce Analytics/Planning.
For three days, HR professionals can learn from and interact with senior
executives from top companies, whether presenters or other attendees.
Presenters include senior executives from Aetna, Capital One, Cigna, Clorox,
Commerce Bank, Dow Chemical, Echelon Resorts, First American, GKN Plc.,
Gulfstream, Harris, Hershey, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intuit, Neiman Marcus,
Nokia, Rogers Communications, Salesforce.com, United Rentals, Volkswagen,
Whirlpool and Yahoo!
For the 11th consecutive year, the conference will stage its signature
event, a competitive software "Shootout" between leading vendors. "The
Industry's First Talent Management Shootout" will feature back-to-back, custom
demonstrations solving corporate problems using the hottest applications in HR
today. Viewers then vote for their favorite. Also, the "Second Annual Talent
Management Panel" will feature three senior HR executives sharing their
experiences with talent management technologies.
The conference will open with keynote speaker Michael Beschloss, author of
six best-selling books, including Presidential Courage: Brave Leaders and How
They Changed America, 1789-1989. The presidential historian for NBC News,
Beschloss will talk about "Leadership From the Oval Office to the Board Room
... Plus Predictions About Our Presidential Candidates," a timely look at
presidential leadership and its lessons for HR.
The conference program includes more than 30 educational sessions,
including two on Workforce Planning and another on Portals. The most popular
session from two years ago, "Cool New Technologies," is back by overwhelming
demand and will include demonstrations of the five "coolest" new software
products for Performance Management, Recruiting and other HR functions.
The 2008 agenda includes a new track: Web 2.0 & Innovation. One session
featured in this track will update last year's "Great New Technologies Just
for You" by delving deeper into Web 2.0 technologies for corporate and
personal productivity. An industry panel comprised of the top HR software
executives from Lawson, Oracle and SAP, along with their clients, will discuss
the use of Web 2.0 in large companies.
Other tracks being offered are: Strategic View; The Talent Management
Suite; HCM, Portals & Workforce Management; Recruiting; and Outsourcing.
Peter Cappelli will round out the conference in the closing keynote, "What
You Should Know About Talent Management Before Buying Software." Cappelli is
the professor of management at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School,
director of Wharton'sCenter for Human Resources and author of Talent on
Demand: Managing Talent in an Age of Uncertainty.
