TOMS RIVER, NJ, May 20 (MARKET WIRE) --
Visual Management Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: VMSY), a leading digital
surveillance company based in Toms River, N.J., announced that it has been
awarded an initial contract with Henrico County, Virginia to provide a digital
surveillance system for its refuse collection facility in Glen Allen. The
project is
scheduled to begin immediately.
"This award is a milestone for VMS. There is a heightened awareness for
security in recycling and scrap facilities as metal prices have continued to
soar
and people are paying more attention to the environment, dumping, recycling and
other green initiatives," said Jason Gonzalez, CEO of VMS. "We have seen a
huge amount of interest from the vertical and have already done quite a bit of
work in the private sector. This is our first municipal award for a recycling
facility. We will be marketing aggressively to penetrate deeper into the
market."
The system being deployed is a hybrid system that uses both digital and IP
cameras with digital video recorders. It will be used to monitor and
securebooth transactions and regulated dumping activities. An additional
technology
applied in the project is license plate recognition to assist the facility
management in identifying vehicles and operators and expediting association
with accounting.
