Chemtura Increases Prices on PHT4-Based Flame Retardants

MIDDLEBURY, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase prices on PHT4-
based flame retardants in response to significant raw material cost
inflation.

   Specific product lines affected are:

   Firemaster(R)550/552/600/602/BZ54/BZ54HP flame retardants, used in
polyurethane cushioning, will increase by $0.35/Kg ($0.16/lb).

   PHT4 Diol/Firemaster(R)520/ Firemaster(R)504 flame retardants,
used primarily in rigid polyurethane foam, will increase by $0.17/Kg
($0.08/lb).

   These increases take effect globally June 1, 2008, or as contracts
allow. They are essential to sustain Chemtura as a viable supplier and
to enable continued reinvestment. Chemtura remains committed to the
