  TORONTO, ONTARIO, May 20 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
 Polar Star Mining Corporation ("Polar Star" or the "Company") (TSX
VENTURE: POS)(PINK SHEETS: POSRF) is pleased to announce that Adam
Rochacewich, CA, has been appointed as Polar Star's new Chief Financial
Officer effective June 1, 2008. Mr. Rochacewich, has several years
experience in the area of financial accounting and reporting. He has held
financial positions with Xstrata Plc, LionOre Mining International and
Falconbridge Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queens
University and is currently the Controller of Polar Star and the Chief
Financial Officer of Verena Minerals Corporation.

    The Company wishes to thank Mr. H. Douglas Scharf, CA, who served as the
Company's Chief Financial Officer for 2 years. Mr. Scharf will continue
as a director of the Company.
