Fredriksen sells 2.3 pct of OSG - SEC filing

OSLO May 20 (Reuters) - Norwegian shipping magnate John Fredriksen reduced his stake in U.S. Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG.N) by selling 2.3 percent last week, according to a SEC filing by companies affiliated with Fredriksen.

The filing said that Monteray Enterprises Ltd and Geveran Holdings sold a total of 700,000 shares in OSG between May 12 and May 16, for between $80.60 and $82.33 per share.

On Monday, OSG stock closed down 0.1 percent at $81.89.

In March, shares in Fredriksen's main shipping company Frontline (FRO.OL) surged on speculation it could acquire OSG after amassing a 5 percent stake.

According to Reuters data, Fredriksen separately owned 1.44 million OSG shares, or 4.7 percent, on March 30. (Reporting by Wojciech Moskwa; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
