Sonoma County Is the Destination for Gay Marriage and Gay Honeymoons

Accommodations Throughout the County Are Promoting Gay Wedding and
Gay Honeymoon Packages in Response to the California Supreme Court
Decision on Gay Marriage
SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
In response to Thursday's California Supreme Court decision ruling
that same-sex couples have the "right to marry," nine accommodations
in gay-friendly Sonoma County have developed gay marriage and gay
honeymoon packages available now and through the end of the year for
couples making California gay marriage and gay honeymoon plans.
Considered by many to be the gay recreation area of choice in
California these Sonoma County accommodations are offering gay wedding
and gay honeymoon packages that offer a range of accommodations,
prices and options including, couples massage, pampering, adventure
outings, garden tours and intimate dinners.

   The Glenelly Inn in the Sonoma Valley will accommodate intimate
gay wedding and gay marriage ceremonies fireside or in the rose garden
that include sparkling wine, choice of bouquets or boutonnieres, a
Scandinavian Princess Cake and a suite for the couple for $300. The
gay honeymoon package includes three-nights in a cottage that starts
with a rose petal foot soak and 30-minute foot massage for the
newlyweds while they enjoy a selection of artisan cheese, truffles and
sparkling wine. The couple will also each enjoy a 90-minute
simultaneous Personal Synergy Blend Massage with a customized
celebration and love aromatherapy oil blend to take home. The
all-inclusive gay honeymoon price is $1995.

   The Gay Elopement Package at the Hope Merrill House in Geyserville
includes two nights accommodation with two-person Jacuzzi and
fireplace, a non-denominational minister for the gay wedding or gay
marriage ceremony, a bridal bouquet and boutonniere, a gay wedding
cake, champagne with light appetizers, photos, a $75 dinner voucher
and gourmet breakfasts at the inn for $2,750 weekends and $2,250

Couples Aromatherapy Massage at Health Spa Healdsburg, champagne,
truffles, a private wine & cheese pairing at Michel-Schlumberger, two

   At the Rio Villa Beach Resort in Monte Rio their Small Gay Wedding
and Gay Marriage Ceremony Packages, for groups of 25 or fewer, include
a setting overlooking the Russian River, seating and the wedding
official for $500 weekends and $250 midweek. The Gay Honeymoon Package
includes two nights in a Russian River view room, a welcome wine and
cheese basket, two 60-minute massages, golfing in the redwoods and a
Continental breakfast every morning starting at $645.

   The Sonoma Orchid Inn in Guerneville offers a Gay Honeymoon Floral
Package which includes a personal orchid vanilla bean commitment cake
decorated with candied flowers, dual aromatherapy massages and
exclusive green house tours of local nurseries so that the couple can
choose a plant to commemorate the occasion and their commitment to a
growing a future together. The gay honeymoon price based on two nights
accommodation is $550 to $750 with an additional third night for $50
to $75 depending on room selection.

   At the Highlands Resort, a primarily gay resort in Guerneville,
the Honeymoon Package offers two nights in an individual cabin under
the redwoods. The cabin's king size bed and oversized 2-person soaking
tub provides the backdrop for a truly memorable honeymoon. The package
includes a breakfast delivered to the door each morning so the couple
can enjoy breakfast in bed, two 60-minute massages in a fairy ring of
mature redwoods, a self-guided wine tasting tour, and a gourmet picnic

   Romance means shared adventures at the Creekside Inn & Resort's
cottages and rooms among the redwoods. The Inn plans adventure options
for gay honeymooners including kayaking or canoeing on the Russian
River, horseback riding among the majestic redwoods at Armstrong
Redwood State Preserve or a peewee golf outing. The Inn has dog
friendly rooms if couples decide to bring the family pet on their
honeymoon. Price ranges from $98 to $270 per night depending on room
size and amenities. Discounted adventure prices and reservations are
arranged by the inn but paid to the individual supplier.

   Village Inn & Restaurant on the Russian River in Monte Rio
provides a gay honeymoon romance package with two nights in a river
view studio room with private balcony and Sonoma County champagne on
arrival. A romantic three-course dinner for two in the award-winning
restaurant rounds out this romantic getaway. The package is $460 to
$530 depending on room size and amenities.

   In Healdsburg, the Camellia Inn offers a Deluxe Romance Gay
Honeymoon Package with relaxation and pampering at its center. Couples
check into a queen deluxe room with a whirlpool tub and a fireplace to
find a bottle of champagne and a special chocolate bath therapy tray.
A 90-minute hot stone massage and a 60-minute Water Flow massage at
Health Spa Healdsburg where the honeymoon couple will enjoy a gourmet
picnic lunch in the spa's organic permaculture garden completes the
package for a price of $969.

   The historic Flamingo Conference Resort & Spa in Santa Rosa is
offering a Romance Spa Package that includes a one night stay in an
Executive King Room, a bottle of wine, a couples massage, a spa gift,
health club passes and tennis at the five-star Montecito Heights
Health Club and Continental breakfast for the all inclusive $379
weekdays and $429 weekends.

   In Santa Rosa the Melitta Station Inn's Gay Honeymoon Midweek Spa
Special includes two nights accommodations paired with gourmet
breakfasts, a Lovers' massage consisting of two 45-minute sessions in
the Inn's on-site massage room and complimentary wine tasting passport
to more than 20 wineries in Sonoma Valley. Available Sunday through
Thursday, the package price is $369 to $429 ($50 supplement for
weekends) depending on room size and amenities.
