Russia casts doubt on U.N.'s Georgia plane probe

MOSCOW | Tue May 27, 2008 9:02am EDT

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia said on Tuesday it did not have confidence in a United Nations report which said a Russian air force plane shot down an unmanned Georgian spy plane over Georgia's breakaway Abkhazia region last month.

"Overall, the quality of these investigations does not inspire confidence," Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement posted on its Internet site www.mid.ru.
