REG-JP Morgan Chase Peter Scher to Lead JPMorgan Chase's Global Government Relations and Public Policy

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--


JPMorgan Chase today announced Peter L. Scher will join the firm as Executive
Vice President of Global Government Relations and Public Policy effective June
16, 2008. In this role he will oversee State, Federal and International
Government Relations. Scher will also serve on the firm's Executive Committee
and report to William Daley, Vice Chairman of the Midwest and Head of the Office
of Corporate Responsibility.

a wealth of experience in the issues that impact the banking and financial
services industry and the global markets that we operate in," said Daley. "We

Currently, Scher is the Managing Partner of the Washington, D.C. office of the
law firm of Mayer Brown, LLP. He previously served in a number of senior level
positions in the Executive Branch as a special trade negotiator in the Office of
the U.S. Trade Representative and as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of
Commerce.

Before that he held senior level jobs in Congress. He served as staff director
of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and chief of staff to U.S.
Senator Max Baucus of Montana, now chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. In
2004, he managed the vice presidential campaign of former North Carolina U.S.
Senator John Edwards.

Born in New York City, New York Scher received his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Political Science from The American University and his Juris Doctor from The
American University's Washington College of Law. He is a member of the Bar
Associations of New York State and Washington, D.C. Scher is married and has two
sons.
