Greenlight Launches New Paid Search Product to Defend Brands Online

Specialist search marketing agency Greenlight has launched a brand
monitoring platform specifically targeted at paid search marketing
campaigns. Called SearchSentry(TM), the service, which is the first of
its kind, aims to provide brand defense within the paid search
channels of the main search engines.

   The timely launch of SearchSentry(TM) follows the change in
Google's policy to allow UK and Ireland advertisers to bid on
trademarked keywords for the first time. The new policy, which came
into effect on 5th May has already caused much controversy, with a
number of high profile advertisers publically declaring that they
would bid on their competitor's brand names.

   The new platform will work to protect brands online by firstly
monitoring competitor and affiliate activity to provide brand managers
with detailed information on who is bidding on their brands. It then
mines the data collected so that a plan of action can be drawn up to
help brand managers defend and control their brand.
